Apple iOS

You will need to update both your incoming and outgoing server settings. Follow the steps below to complete the process for both.

For iOS 9

To update the Incoming Server Password:

  1. 1.Tap Settings.
  2. 2.Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. 3.Tap the account for which you are making the changes.
  4. 4.Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive.

To update and verify the Outgoing Server Password:

  1. 1.Tap Settings.
  2. 2.Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. 3.Tap the account for which you are making the changes.
  4. 4.Scroll down and tap SMTP.
  5. 5.Tap the Primary Server Address.
  6. 6.Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive.

For iOS 12

To update the Incoming Server Password:
  1. 1.Tap Settings
  2. 2.Tap Passwords & Accounts
  3. 3.Tap the account for which you are making the changes.
  4. 4.Tap Account
  5. 5.Scroll down and tap on Incoming Mail Server.
  6. Update your password in the password field.  Passwords are case sensitive.
To update the Outgoing Server Password:
  1. 1.Tap Settings
  2. 2.Tap Passwords & Accounts
  3. 3.Tap the account for which you are making the changes.
  4. 4.Tap Account
  5. 5.Scroll down and tap on Outgoing Mail Server.
  6. 6.Tap Primary Server.
  7. Update your password in the password field.  Passwords are case sensitive.

Android

6.0 Marshmallow

Note: You may need to update both your incoming and outgoing server settings in addition to the main account password.

Follow the steps below to complete the process for all.

To update the Account Password:
  1. 1.Open the account in your Mail application.
  2. 2.Tap More Options, which is usually indicated by three vertical dots in the tap right corner of your inbox.
  3. 3.Tap Settings.
  4. 4.Tap Manage Accounts.
  5. 5.Tap the account that you are modifying.
  6. 6.Tap Password and enter the password you used when you set up the mail account inside of your account manager. Remember, passwords are case sensitive.
To update the Incoming Server Password:
  1. 1.Open the account in your Mail application.
  2. 2.Tap More Options, which is usually indicated by three vertical dots in the tap right corner of your inbox.
  3. 3.Tap Settings.
  4. 4.Tap Manage Accounts.

  6. 6.Tap More Settings at the bottom of the screen.
  7. 7.Tap Incoming Settings.

7.0 Nougat

  3. 3.Tap the Gear Icon in the top right of the new menu that appeared.
  4. 4.Tap the account you are modifying.
  5. 5.Scroll down and tap on Server Settings under the Advanced Settings area
  6. 6. Tap Password and enter the password you used when you set up the mail account inside of your account manager. Remember, passwords are case sensitive.
To update the Incoming Server:
  1. 1.Open your mail application.

MacMail

You can update your saved password from the Preferences menu:

To update the Incoming Server Password
  1. 1.Click on Mail on the top left next to the Apple icon
  2. 2.Click on Preferences
  3. 3. Click the account for which you are making the changes under Accounts
  4. 4.Click on Server Settings
  5. 5.Under Incoming Mail Server
  6. 6.Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive
To update the Outgoing Server Password
  1. 1.Click on Mail on the top left next to the Apple icon
  2. 2.Click on Preferences
  3. 3. Click the account for which you are making the changes under Accounts
  4. 4.Click on Server Settings
  5. 5.Under Outgoing Mail Server
  6. 6.Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive

Outlook

You can update your saved password from the Account Settings panel:

  1. 1.File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
  2. 2.Double-click your account.
  3. 3.This should bring you to the POP and IMAP Account Settings panel.
  4. 4.Re-input your password in the password field.

Outlook 2011 for Mac

Note: You may need to update both your incoming and outgoing server settings in addition to the main account password.

  2. 2.Click Tools and then Accounts from the main toolbar.
  3. 3.Click the account for which you are making the changes.

  5. 5. Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive

To update the Outgoing Server Password:

  1. 1.Open Outlook.
  2. 2.Click Tools and then Accounts from the main toolbar.
  3. 3.Click the account for which you are making the changes.
  4. 4. Look under Server Information.
  5. 5.Below Outgoing Server click on More Options…
  6. 6. Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive

Windows

Windows 8

You can update your password in the settings section on Windows 8 Mail.

  1. 1.Open Windows 8 Mail.
  2. 2.Swipe left from the edge of the screen or maneuver your mouse to the far right and click or tap Settings.
  3. 3.Click or tap Accounts.
  4. 4.Click or tap the account that you would like to modify.
  5. 5.Update your password in the Password field.

Windows 10

You can update your password in the settings section on Windows 10 Mail.
  1. 1.Open Windows 10 Mail
  2. 2.Click on the Gear icon on the bottom left
  3. 3.In the Settings pane you can now click on Accounts
  4. 4. Click the account for which you are making the changes.
  5. 5.Update your password in the password field. Passwords are case sensitive
