Note: Automatic setup of email accounts requires iOS version 9 or later and only supports the Safari internet browser.


To setup your email on your iPhone or iPad, choose one of the options below.

Automatic Setup

You can automatically set up your email box on an iPhone or iPad device without having to enter any settings.
Here is what you will need to get started:

  • Your domain name
  • Email address
  • Password

Here's how you set up your email box on your iPhone or iPad device: 

1. In the Safari internet browser, enter the URL in this format: mail.exampledomain.ext/ios.


Note: For example, if your domain name is cutecats.com, then you would enter mail.cutecats.com/ios.




2. On the Email Setup Page, enter your email address, then tap Get Started. A pop-up message appears:


3. Once you tap Allow, the profile will be downloaded. 


Note: You may get a pop-up that says "Profile Downloaded - Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it." If you get this message, go to Settings, click on Profile Downloaded, then click Install. After doing this, proceed to step 8. 


4. When the message pops up confirming the download, tap Close.
5. Go into your settings and tap Profile Downloaded. You will see this above Airplane Mode.
6. On the Install Profile screen, tap Install.



7. Enter your passcode if prompted then tap Install again.



8. Enter the password for the mailbox, then tap Next.
9. Once the setup has completed, the Profile Installed screen appears:


10. Tap Done.


Your email setup is now completed. Your email account appears in the Mailboxes list in the Mail app on your device.

Manual Setup

Follow the steps below to set up your iOS device:


Note: This article was created using an iPhone 11 Plus running iOS 13.3. The steps should be the same for all devices running the same version of iOS and should be accurate even for most other versions of iOS.

If the steps are not the same, then we recommend that you utilize the settings found in the tables below and follow the on screen prompts to set up your device. If you need additional assistance, please contact Apple support.


 

1. Tap the Settings icon.


2. Tap Accounts & Passwords.


3. Tap Add Account.


4. Tap Other.


5. Tap Add Mail Account.
6. Reference the table below to enter your NameEmailPassword, and Description, then tap Next.
 

Field

Required Information

Name

Enter the name that you would like to have displayed when the recipient receives an email from you.

Email

Enter the full email address of the email box that you are currently setting up.
Example: help@webmailhelp.com

Password

Enter the password of the email address that you set when you created the mailbox in your Account Manager.

Description

Enter the name of the account. This information is used to reference the account within the Mail application and device.



7. Select your Account type of either IMAP or POP, then reference the settings table below to enter the rest of the settings.

 

Tap Next to continue when you are finished.

Settings

Required Information

Name

Enter the name you to display in the From field when a recipient receives your email.

Email

The full email address that you are setting up.
Example: help@webemailhelp.com

Description

Enter the name of the account. This information is used to reference the account within the Mail Application and device.

Incoming Mail Server

 

Host Name

mail.<yourdomainname.com>
Example: mail.webemailhelp.com

User Name

The full email address of the email box that you are currently setting up.

Password

Enter the password that you set when you created the mailbox in your account manager.

Outgoing Mail Server

 

Host Name

smtp.<yourdomainname.com>
Example: smtp.webemailhelp.com

For Register.com customers:
mail.<yourdomainname.com> 
Example: mail.webemailhelp.com

User Name

The full email address of the email box that you are currently setting up.

Password

Enter the password that you set when you created the mailbox in your account manager.

 


8. If a popup window appears with the Cannot Verify Server Identity message for the incoming mail server, then tap Continue to resolve the error.


9. Verify that Mail is toggled to on (green), then tap Save.


Your email account has been added. Tap the Mail app icon to start using your email on your iPhone or iPad device.

Change Outgoing Server Ports

1. On the Home page, open the Settings app.
2. In Settings, tap the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars option.
3. Tap the account you want to edit.
4. Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap the SMTP option.
5. Make sure the Primary Server is set to On.
6. Find the Server Port option.

  • If the value is 25, then remove and enter the alternate port of 2525 or 587.
  • You may need to try both ports before you can successfully send emails.


You have changed your outgoing server port.
