There are three steps to authorize your domain transfer into our company. All three steps are required by ICANN, the international association that governs the domain industry.
A transfer between registrars takes five to seven days from the time you authorize it, for most domain extensions. Some, such as country-code domain names, may take longer to process or require additional steps.
Step 1: Request Authorization Code:
An Authorization Code (Auth code or EPP Key) is similar to a password; it helps prevent unauthorized transfers of your domain. Most domain name providers allow you to request the authorization code via their online control panel. If you cannot find this feature, then contact your current provider’s customer service team.
Step 2: Approve the Transfer
After providing the authorization code, you will receive an email from email@example.com, asking you to approve the transfer.
Step 3: Reconfirm the Transfer
Once you have approved the transfer, your current registrar will send you an email to reconfirm. This is an extra security measure to prevent fraud.
