Note: Advanced DNS updates will take up to 2 hours to take effect—updates may resolve more quickly at some locations than others because many name servers on the Internet retrieve updates at different times.

SRV or Service records allow a user to locate a specific service on a network rather than a specific machine. An A record is designed to locate a server or host while the SRV record locates a service provided on the network.

The service could be a printer, VOip, FTP, or other similar services. They work similar to how MX records functions, only with different types of services.

To find the instructions on how to modify your SRV records, please click the brand where your domain name is registered.
