Whether you are troubleshooting your email client or setting it up for the first time, these instructions will walk you through an important part of making sure you are successfully sending email on mobile devices:

    iPhone®, iPad®, and iPod®

    1. 1. On the Home page, open the Settings app.
    2. 2. In Settings, tap the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars option.
    3. 3. Tap the account you want to edit.
    4. 4. Under Outgoing Mail Server, tap the SMTP option.
    5. 5. Make sure the Primary Server is set to On.
    6. 6. Find the Server Port option.
    7. If the value is 25, then remove and enter the alternate port of 2525 or 587.
    8. You may need to try both ports before you can successfully send emails.
    9. You have changed your outgoing server port.

    Android®

    Due to the different versions of Android and the many mail clients that can be used on those devices. This is an example of just one of those clients.

    Please contact your provider if you need assistance in finding the location of this advanced setting.

    1. 1. Access your mail application, then tap the Menu or More Settings option.
    2. 2. On the Settings panel, tap the Account settings.
    3. 3. When you choose to edit the account, tap Next until you see the Outgoing server settings panel.
    4. If the value is 25, then remove and enter the alternate port of 2525 or 587.
    5. You may need to try both ports before you can successfully send emails.
    6. You have changed your outgoing server port.
